Here are three sayings or quotes from elder members of my family now long passed.

Grandpa Z.  (My Maternal Grandfather):

If you throw enough shit against the wall some of it is bound to stick.

My Father:

I guess.  But I would hate to be the one that had to clean all that shit up.

My Mother:

Always be sure that you are wearing clean underwear before you leave the house.  You never know when you might get hit by a bus and have to go to the hospital.  Nurses talk, believe me.

I remember responding to my Mother one time only as she had said this on several occasions.  My response was, “what difference does it make if my under wear is clean or not?  If I get hit by a bus I will, in all likelihood, crap my pants.”
